What changes the price
- Household size. More people means more water, which is the difference between the Core and the Elite.
- Chlorine taste and smell. Adding the de-chlorination tank treats every tap in the house.
- Drinking water. A reverse osmosis system at the kitchen sink is a separate add-on.
- Your plumbing. We check your space and plumbing at the water test, so the quote you get is the price you pay.
Running costs
A softener's main running cost is salt. Most homes top up every 4–8 weeks, and the Elite uses up to 30% less salt per regeneration. The de-chlorination tank has no cartridges to change. Reverse osmosis systems need pre-filter changes every 6–12 months and a new membrane every 2–3 years.
